Center Parcs Longleat Forest celebrates 15 Years

July 14th 2009 is a very special date for Center Parcs Longleat Forest, it marks fifteen years since the village opened to guests for the first time. As the third of the Center Parcs Villages to be built in the UK, Longleat Forest became an instant hit with guests and has become one of the most popular short break destinations in the UK.

For 5475 consecutive days Longleat Forest has never closed its doors and has welcomed over 4.6 million guests. During that period:

  • The Cycle Centre has hired out more than 1.5 million bikes
  • 2.5 million children’s meals have been served in their restaurants
  • Over 834,600 nails have been painted in Aqua Sana Spa
  • Over 2220 species of creatures have been recorded living at Center Parcs Longleat Forest , 93 of which are considered rare across the UK
  • Archery arrows have been fired far enough to circumnavigate the globe 8 times
  • The Land Train that takes guests around the Village has covered almost 760,000 miles: that’s almost equivalent to a trip to the moon and back twice!

Over the last fifteen years Longleat Forest has been at the forefront of some of Center Parcs most innovative new concepts, most notably the development of the Aqua Sana and World of Spa concept that was born on the Village. The unique multi-sensory spa was such a huge success that it was introduced into the other 3 UK Villages. Longleat continues to lead with the newly introduced Zilli Café which was launched in May 2009.

Care and enhancement of the forest have been at the very heart of day to day business at Longleat Forest, one of the most notable achievements has been the increase in breeding pairs of Siskins on site. These bright yellow birds are scarce in Wiltshire and with careful monitoring of the species and habitat management, there has been a recognised increase in breeding of this species at Center Parcs Longleat Forest in recent years.
